چکیده

This study was conducted in 2020 to investigate the influence of melatonin (10, 50 and 100 µM) given three methods (immersion, irrigation, foliar spraying) on some physiological aspects tomato seedlings inoculated with root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita [(Kofoid White) Chitwood]. The were 1000 second-stage juveniles M. incognita. Dualex® optic sensor used situ measure total chlorophylls, flavonols, anthocyanins contents nitrogen balance index (NBI). Results indicated that while no significant effects observed chlorophyll content, ameliorated adverse depending concentration mode application. Flavonols at highest irrigated plants lowest immersed ones. NBI affected by method applied, immersing boosted it irrigation caused a decrease. Irrigation resulted significantly higher compared other two methods. One observation applying low medium concentrations soil containing increased anthocyanin content plant. Melatonin merits value developing response against but needs further elucidation.

Scanning Electron Microscope Study of the Root-knot Nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) on Tomato Root.

This study examines the types of structural information that can be gained by utilizing the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a cryofracture technique to examine the host-parasite interaction. Roots of tomato, Lycopersicon esculentum cv. Marglobe, were cultured aseptically and inoculated with the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. Twenty-four hours to four weeks after inoculation, ...

Effect of Oryzalin and 1,1-Dimethylpiperidinium Chloride on Cotton and Tomato Roots Infected with the Root-knot Nematode, Meloidogyne incognita.

Oryzalin (3,5-dinitro-N4,N4-dipropyl-sulfanilamide) and BAS 083 (l,l-dimethylpiperdinium chloride) reduced root-knot infection in tomato roots when respectively applied as a soil drench at 20 ppm and 10,000 ppm. Oryzalin reduced knot counts with various intervals between treatment and inoculation. BAS 083 reduced knot counts only when applied before inoculation. Oryzalin was shown not to be a c...

Effect of organic amendment on organic metabolites in root knot nematode (Meloidogyne Incognita) infested spinach

The Nematodes are roundworms that are found in every environment of the earth. While some species are harmful parasites, others play a vital role in nutrient cycle and medical research. Nematode infestation in the fields is poly-specific; however, depending on the agro-climatic conditions, one or two species are dominant over the rest. The present studies attempts to observe and control the roo...

Transcriptome Analysis of Resistant and Susceptible Alfalfa Cultivars Infected With Root-Knot Nematode Meloidogyne incognita

Nematodes are one of the major limiting factors in alfalfa production. Root-knot nematodes (RKN, Meloidogyne spp.) are widely distributed and economically important sedentary endoparasites of agricultural crops and they may inflict significant damage to alfalfa fields. As of today, no studies have been published on global gene expression profiling in alfalfa infected with RKN or any other plant...
